Roosevelt Custom Piece

So, I've returned to college after 20 years of being out, and it's taking me a lot to do math again. Well, Mary emailed me the finish of Roosevelt which I've been anticipating for a long while, she's a brilliant stitcher like so many of you all. I think I scanned Roosevelt and then did class. I was so busy... I just left the email in my inbox and didn't come back to it. I'm officially out loud apologizing for that. I love this piece and like so many I really do try to take time to really look at the finished that happen from charts. It helps me be better for my next charts too, so it's not only amazing to see, but it's helpful to press for progress and improvements in making these pieces more realistic.

I try to take 10-15 minutes looking at each finish and zoom in real close to see the color contrasting and how it was a success with a particular piece, or it wasn't so good. I consider the size of the pieces and really do look at them.

I didn't do that with this one until tonight and it is stunning. Mary is such a good stitcher, and this would be a challenging chart. It's not huge, but a good size and you can see the age of this dog and the look of his eyes.

I love your stitching Mary and I'm so glad you shared with me even if I'm late to commentary.

Paula West Custom Highland Cow

It's a rare day that I get a finish in my email. (The best of rare days.) Today there are two right there beside each other and not small pieces. This is a custom piece done for Paula West. This is her 2nd finish in this gallery... and she is already starting on her next […]

It's absolutely brilliant so beautifully done and full of care. I’m genuinely so glad I get to be even a small part of it, to contribute in some way to something […]

Prize Dog / Custom Piece Robin Langlie

This chart is an interesting one because I gave it to her free of charge. That was in 2017, so this was 8 years ago. She was asking about charting on a Facebook group and I really thought the dog would look good more cartooned, so I did it an offered her the chart free. […]

Marley by Debbie McCartney

As I told Debbie I feel like I always say the same thing, this stitching is amazing. It's true though all these projects are hard and take patience. The best part of making charts is hearing the story of the people, animals, or experiences behind the images that I get to work with. Marley was […]

Iceberg Vacation by Pat Barnett

Here is something unbelievable. This chart was completed in less than 4 months. This chart was so challenging to make because we wanted to limit the size and number of colors but highlight the different habitats from the ice wall, river, and green tree area. The stitching couldn't be more perfect. I'm super impressed. Thanks […]
