Oregon Baseball Cross Stitch Design

This is an interesting piece of artwork originally by John Clymer, The Saturday Evening Post. It was the cover April 21, 1951.

This piece has several names, Oregon Baseball, but I did my research after I charted it so you might see Backyard Baseball associated with it too.

Two children play baseball in a rural Oregon backyard. One child wears a red shirt and cap while batting. Another child wears a yellow shirt and blue pants while pitching. A small wooden shed stands nearby. Flowering trees with white blossoms fill the middle ground. A white house sits in the distance. A large snow-capped mountain rises under a clear blue sky. The scene shows a bright sunny day.

The chart is 200x314 stitches and contains 140 colors.

What's Included

These designs are charted for 18-count fabric using two strands of thread, but can be adapted to any fabric count. Adjustments will affect the finished size and thread requirements. Each chart includes a 30% thread excess estimate. A fabric calculator is provided in the footer of each page; inputting the stitch count will determine the necessary fabric size.

All charts include a black and white chart, color chart, symbol guide, and shopping list. Exceptions apply to designs with fewer than 15 colors, those using only one skein per color, or those explicitly stated as including only one chart type in the listing description.
