This chart is based on a vintage travel poster shows a stylized tropical coastal landscape rendered as a cross stitch pattern.
At the center stands a steep mountain mass with a sharp summit. The main face rises from the middle ground and fills much of the upper half of the chart. Its surfaces are built from blocks of coral, rust, mauve, plum, and peach. The stitch placement creates planes of light and shadow across ridges, gullies, and rock faces. Behind and beside it sit lower mountain forms in darker purple and brown tones, which push the main peak forward.
In the foreground, the scene is enclosed by dark rock and plant growth on both sides. On the left, a rocky wall in red, maroon, and deep brown climbs upward from the lower edge. Small areas of green foliage sit along its base and ledges. On the right, a darker cliff or rock mass frames the water and supports dense tropical leaves. Long curved fronds extend inward from the lower right corner, and smaller leaf clusters appear near the upper right edge. Additional palm or broad tropical leaves enter from the upper left corner, creating a canopy effect across the top corners of the chart.
The lower middle portion contains a calm inlet or lagoon. The water curves from the left center toward the lower center and then recedes into the distance. It is stitched in pale blue, aqua, turquoise, white, and light teal. Horizontal bands and small stepped changes in color suggest reflected light on the surface. Along the left edge of the water sits a narrow strip of shore in sand, yellow, and pale peach tones. The shoreline bends gently and separates the water from the green slopes behind it.
The middle ground slopes are covered in layered greens ranging from olive to lime to muted teal. These hills descend from the mountain toward the water. The stitch pattern uses diagonal runs and alternating color bands to indicate vegetation, contour, and depth. A line of small reddish marks crosses one slope, reading as a path, low ridge detail, or a row of ground features.
The sky occupies the upper background and is filled with warm tones. Large cloud masses spread across the top in peach, orange, salmon, and gold. The brightest area sits behind the mountain, where a pale yellow glow suggests low sun or strong backlight. This bright zone silhouettes parts of the peak and increases contrast between the mountain and sky.
The chart uses a limited but carefully arranged palette. Warm oranges, reds, and pinks dominate the mountain and sky, while cool blues and greens define the water and vegetation. Dark purple and brown anchor the foreground edges.
This chart contains 85 colors and is 228x331 stitches.
