A Great Tribute Custom Piece | Lori Smith

There are few charts where I show the origin or the why that were used to create the chart. This is the ones that is cool to show.

Here is the paw print used to create this chart. This dog has passes so this is one of the last images of it’s paw when it was alive. The whole dog was attached, but this is the image portion used.

With this, I told her I can probably get what her goal is if she took a picture of a hand, holding something that was different in color than the hand, but in approximately the right pose, so something like a toilet paper tube. Here is the image we used.

From those two images, I guess I should show you the mockup because a lot of folks question how accurate they are. Here is the final mockup based on those two images.

Here is the email I got from Lori Smith when she finished it.

Omg, thank you so much!!!! I don’t know how I’m not cross-eyed cuz man I hit that heavy and hard to get this done. I must say that I enjoyed the new symbols used as opposed to patterns that I’ve done in the past. There weren’t any that were similar except for the 9’s & 6’s. Thank you for that cuz that really helps. Now Christmas can’t get here quick enough! I know my daughter is going to absolutely love it. Thank you again.

The ability to create charts as special as this are the reason I stay making charts. It’s why when I sleep at night, I’m dreaming of other folks stitching projects and the ones on my desk that I’m working on creating.

It truly is the best days when I get to see a share these amazing finishes even if I don’t email you back instantly… I usually see and am just in awe for a little bit before the words come to me or the pressure of time causes me to reply. I’m still at a lose for words in this case, but I know this piece is going to be loved and I hope it’s an heirloom for her daughter for ever.

Thank you so much Lori for letting me be such a small part in putting together this project. Your stitching is perfection.

Here is a chart we created. It was really a long process getting this chart correct. It was the 3rd image that I worked with that finally got the skin tones to looking correct.
